THQ has finally released the spec info for their PC and 360 game, Metro 2033.
To play this game on the PC on high settings, you're going to need a bit of a powerhouse which is to be expected after they announced that they were putting support for DirectX 11 in the game.
The minimum spec you will need is like this:
- Any duel core CPU
- DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant graphics cards (GeForce 8800, GeForce GT220 and above)
- 1GB RAM
The recommended spec is:
- Any Quad Core or 3.0+ GHz Dual Core CPU
- DirectX 10 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 260 and above)
- 2GB RAM
And the optimal spec, one that I cant see many people owning, is:
- Core i7 CPU
- NVIDIA DirectX 11 compliant graphics card (GeForce GTX 480 and 470)
- 8GB+ RAM
- Fast HDD or (preferably) SSD
So yeah, pretty heavy spec required for playing this game on full, especially seeing as NVIDIA don't sell cards from the 300 series outside of pre-built rigs, let alone 400.
As i said, this game is also being released on the 360. I love the XBOX, but there's no way the GFX could be that good that you need a super computer to play it on full seeing as the 360 will be limiting how technically advanced they can make this game.
It almost seems like they're using DirectX 11 compatibility as a gimmick to not only sell copies of the game, but NVIDIA cards as well.
I'm looking forward to this game, i've heard a lot of good points and bad points about it, i just hope they spend as much time ironing out its issues before release, as they have giving tech obsessed PC loyalists hard-ons.
